IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Dawan Landry is a resident of Ama, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish. His parents are Frank and Rhonda Landry, and his two brothers are LaRon and Derick; and,
WHEREAS, Dawan is a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ama; and,
WHEREAS, Dawan is a 2001 graduate of Hahnville High School where he was ranked the 24th quarterback in the Nation, and is currently attending Georgia Tech in Atlanta majoring in Management on an athletic scholarship; and has been on the Dean's List; and,
WHEREAS, Dawan played every game in 2002 on special teams and collected eight tackles and moved to defense to take advantage of his athletic abilities; and,
WHEREAS, in 2003 Dawan was Georgia Tech's fourth leading tackler with 85 hits, including six tackles for loss. His career best was 12 hits with three tackles for loss in win over Auburn; and,
WHEREAS, in 2004 Dawan was the third leading tackler with 81, including 10 tackles for loss and three sacks. He was part of a unit that ranked 12th in the Nation in total defense, 13th in rushing defense, 21st in scoring defense, and 21st in pass efficiency defense; and,
WHEREAS, Dawan, big, athletic safety, fierce hitter who excels in run support, former left handed quarterback who moved to safety in the spring of 2002, has three career interceptions, along with 174 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
