IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Betty "Mary Elizabeth" Barnewold is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in New Sarpy, Louisiana with her boyfriend Harold J. Mire, Sr.; she is the proud mother of two children, Andrew and Steffan and the proud Grandmother of one Grandson, Tristan; and,
 
WHEREAS,      Betty attended St. Joseph Academy in New Orleans and one year at Delgado Community College.  She worked for 20 years for Ochsner Medical Foundation and retired three years ago; and,
 
WHEREAS,      Betty's hobbies are dancing, traveling, and lunching with classmates and friends; and,
 
WHEREAS,      Betty is a cancer survivor and caregiver to a family member and friends.  She was selected Queen through a drawing held at the Relay for Life Survivor Celebration Dinner sponsored by Valero on February 24, 2015, at the KC Hall in Norco; and,
 
WHEREAS,      as Queen, Betty will reign at this year's Relay for Life event on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Westbank Bridge Park.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
