IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Coach Stephen Robicheaux, is a lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Hahnville, Louisiana. He is married to Tammy Tauzier and they are the proud parents of two daughters, Bryn and Morgan, and grandparents to one grandson, Champ Carter; and,
WHEREAS, Coach Robicheaux, has been with the Destrehan Wildcats football program for a total of 26 years. He was an assistant coach for eight years, coaching linebackers for three seasons before becoming defensive coordinator for five years and then elevated to head coach in 2000; and,
WHEREAS, Coach Robicheaux stepped down as coach following the 2009 season, accepting the safety coordinator position for St. Charles Parish Public Schools; a role he served in for two years before returning to the Wildcats’ sideline in 2012; and,
WHEREAS, under Coach Robicheaux’s leadership, the Destrehan Wildcats won nine district championships, two consecutive Class 5A state championships in 2007 and 2008, and advanced to the finals in 2014 and 2019. His teams averaged more than 10 victories a season while compiling a 186-41 record at Destrehan, where 17 of his 18 teams advanced to the playoffs; and,
WHEREAS, on Friday, February 14, 2020, the prep coaching icon announced his retirement as Destrehan High School’s head football coach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
