Title
An ordinance of the Parish of St. Charles, providing that the Code of Ordinances, Parish of St. Charles, be amended by revising Appendix A, Section XV. Amendment procedure, adding B.1.
Body
WHEREAS, no formal cutoff dates exist by ordinance for items to be placed on the Planning & Zoning Commission Agenda; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the St. Charles Parish Council to clearly identify and define cutoff dates by ordinance for items to be placed on the Planning & Zoning Commission Agenda; and,
WHEREAS, items other than those pertaining to Code of Ordinance change(s) require a significant amount of in-house work by the Planning & Zoning Department; and,
WHEREAS, items pertaining to Code of Ordinance change(s) only require that they be advertised by the Planning & Zoning Department; and,
WHEREAS, the formal establishment of cutoff dates provides written guidance to the Planning & Zoning Department, the St. Charles Parish Council, the Parish Administration, and the public as to the deadline for submittal of items to be placed on a Planning & Zoning Commission Agenda.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Appendix A, Section XV. Amendment procedure be amended by adding B.1. as follows:
(B.1) The required cutoff time and date for submittal to the Planning & Zoning Department for all items to be placed on the Planning & Zoning Commission Agenda shall be 4:00 PM on the thirtieth (30th) day in advance of the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting date, with the exception of items pertaining to Code of Ordinance change(s). Items pertaining to Code of Ordinance change(s) shall be placed on the Agenda provided it is received by the Planning & Zoning Department no later than the last working day prior to the deadline date for advertisement in the Official Journal of St. Charles Parish.
