IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Chelsey Elizabeth Hymel is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Montz, Louisiana with her parents John and Shellie Hymel and her siblings, Ashlyn and Austin; and,
WHEREAS, Chelsey is a Junior at St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace where she maintains a 3.0 GPA; she is a St. Charles Catholic Cheerleader, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and serves on the Ambassador Club; she is the recipient of the StarPower National Talent Competition “Power Pak” Award, and American All Star Award; and,
WHEREAS, Chelsey is a member and Church Greeter of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace; and,
WHEREAS, Chelsey has been a dance member for 15 years with Yvonne's Directions in Dance and has performed with their national award winning dance company winning numerous awards; she attended the New Orleans Ballet where she was a member of the pre-professional “Step Up” Dance Program; she performed and studied Classical Ballet, Modern, African Dance, Mime Choreography, Costume Design, Art, and Poetry; she attended the “Footbridge” Summer Dance Program where she studied under the direction of the Cincinnati Ballet Company, the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, the Dance Theatre of Harlem, and numerous visiting professional artists; and,
WHEREAS, Chelsey has performed numerous times for the St. James Relay for Life and this year she plans on pursuing her graduate certificate in Dance; and,
WHEREAS, Chelsey enjoys movies with her family and friends and taking care of her dogs and cats in her spare time; and,
WHEREAS, Chelsey plans on attending college and obtaining a degree in Pediatric Nursing and while in College she would like the opportunity to intern during the summer with Walt Disney World as a dancer to perform for children; and,
