Title
An ordinance to enact a MORATORIUM on the approval of major subdivisions (6 or more lots) in Ama until February 29, 2008.
Body
WHEREAS, the current zoning of Ama was established in the St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981 as amended; and,
WHEREAS, over the past twenty-five years the Community of Ama has experienced little growth; and,
WHEREAS, new developments are now being proposed in Ama that could forever change the character of the Community; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish Council adopted Resolution No. on September 17, 2007 requesting a study of the appropriateness of the current zoning in Ama; and,
WHEREAS, in order to allow said Study sufficient time to address and make recommendations regarding the zoning in Ama, it is necessary to impose a Moratorium on new major subdivisions.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That a MORATORIUM is hereby placed on the approval of any new major subdivisions (6 or more lots) in Ama.
SECTION II. That this MORATORIUM shall be in effect until February 29, 2008.
