IN RECOGNITION

WHEREAS, Benjamin Jacob Botnick is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Benjamin is a Jr. Assistant Scout Master and Member of Troop 370, chartered by St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, he started his Scouting career in Cleveland Ohio with Pack 388; and,
WHEREAS, Benjamin has spent the last 10 years as an active Member of the Scouts spending the last 5 years preparing to become an EAGLE SCOUT; and,
WHEREAS, Benjamin has earned his 13 required merit badges and 17 elective badges from a list of 128 badges and completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by planning, designing and building a 48' wooden foot bridge spanning a ravine to open up a second walking trail for the community in Cora Clark Park, Meadville, Pennsylvania; and,
WHEREAS, Benjamin earned these 30 required badges by showing leadership ability as assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, guide, historian, and assistant patrol leader at the Boy Scouts Jamboree at Fort AP Hill in Virginia; and,
WHEREAS, Benjamin rose to the rank of EAGLE SCOUT in August 2002 and received his medal in a ceremony on December 15, 2002, at the Congregation Gates of Prayer in Metairie, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Benjamin can continue to grow as an EAGLE SCOUT earning additional badges, called eagle palms in gold, silver and bronze, comprised of 5 merit badges by showing spirit and satisfactory development in demonstrating leadership abilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
BENJAMIN JACOB BOTNICK
