IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Chief Barry Minnich, is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana with his wife of over 48 years, Ann. They are the proud parents of four children Tara Fuselier (Jarrett), April Haydel (Mike), Blaire Dunn (Jesse), and Annie Kulbeth (Keith) and proud grandparents of 8 grandchildren; Anna, Evan, Amelie, Abrahm, Canaan, Jesse, Rhyan, and a grandson on the way; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Minnich worked for Union Carbide/Dow St. Charles for 35 years and has devoted 50 years of fire service with the Luling Volunteer Fire Department where he joined in 1968. He is the longest tenured member of the Department with distinguished service to the community as a volunteer firefighter; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Minnich began his fire service career, holding various positions throughout the years including President and Fire Chief; and,
WHEREAS, the position of Luling Volunteer Fire Department Chief, he continues to hold today, along with his current position as President of the St. Charles Firemen's Association, and Chief Investigator for the St. Charles Parish Coroner's Office; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Minnich has responded to thousands of calls during his time as a firefighter, thereby providing an enormous benefit to the community and residents; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Minnich's dedication, devotion, and volunteerism are a shining example of community service and service to others.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby express our appreciation, admiration, and gratitude for Firefighter, Chief Barry Minnich for his fifty (50) years of dedication to the community as a volunteer firefighter, and thank him for his tireless service.
