Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Construction Contract with Sealevel Construction, Inc. for Project No. P080905-3C, State Project No. H.009257, Willowridge Levee Improvements - Phase III, Willowdale PS T-Wall and Levee Extension Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, in the amount of $7,440,171.00.

WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on August 25, 2015 for Project No. P080905-3C, State Project No. H.009257, Willowridge Levee Improvements - Phase III, Willowdale PS T-Wall and Levee Extension Project; and,
WHEREAS, Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc., Suresh I. Shah, P.E., the Consulting Engineer for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommended that the Contract be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder, Sealevel Construction, Inc. in the amount of $7,440,171.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Willowridge Levee Improvements - Phase III, Willowdale PS T-Wall and Levee Extension Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, will provide flood protection to approximately 209 acres, 364 structures and 4 miles of public streets located in the Willowridge Estates subdivision area; and,
WHEREAS, the Willowridge Levee Improvements - Phase III, Willowdale PS T-Wall and Levee Extension Project includes the construction of an earthen levee via on-site borrow and placement of compacted embankments, surfacing, gated structures, clearing and grubbing, installation of drain line and inlets at specified locations, new concrete T-wall at the existing Willowdale Pump Station, new Pump Station Bridge, Mechanical and Electrical improvements, placing silt fencing, constructing ramps, fertilizing, seeding, and mulching; and,
