Title
An ordinance of the Parish of St. Charles providing that the Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, the St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981, Parish of St. Charles, State of Louisiana be amended by revising Section VI.H.[2.], Historic District, to increase the zone of protection to 1000 feet.
Body
WHEREAS, the Council desires to amend the Code to increase the zone of protection of sites that are important to the heritage and history of St. Charles Parish.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, be amended by revising Appendix A, St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981, Section VI.H.[2.] to read as follows:
H. HISTORIC PRESERVATION DISTRICTS
[2.] Special Provisions: Zone of Protection:
Any proposed use or expansion of an existing use of a C-3 or more intensive nature within 1000 feet, as measured from property line to property line, of any historic preservation district, or any property registered with a recognized historic society must be authorized by Special Permit of the Planning & Zoning Commission. This provision shall not apply to residential uses or C-2 or less intensive uses within the zone of protection.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, provide that the Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, the St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981, Parish of St. Charles, State of Louisiana be amended by revising Section VI.H.[2.], Historic District, to increase the zone of protection to 1000 feet.
