Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with LA Contracting Enterprise, LLC, of Thibodaux, LA, for the St. Charles Parish Memorial Plaza Project (Parish Project No. CMPK0418) located at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, 274 Judge Edward Dufresne, Luling, LA, in the amount of $1,399,825.00.

WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on June 24, 2021, for the St. Charles Parish Memorial Plaza Project (Parish Project No. CMPK0418); and,
WHEREAS, Linfield, Hunter & Junius, Inc., the engineer for the project has reviewed the bids and recommended that the project be awarded to the low bidder, LA Contracting Enterprises, LLC, of Thibodaux, LA, in the amount of $1,399,825.00; and,
WHEREAS, the construction of this Memorial Plaza on the grounds of the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center will be gratefully and respectfully dedicated to the men and women of St. Charles Parish who have valiantly served in the military on behalf of the parish and the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, the Memorial Plaza represents each branch of the United States Armed Forces and will act as a memorial to those who lost their lives in service to our country; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to being the first Memorial Plaza of its kind in St. Charles Parish, the Memorial Plaza will provide a peaceful place for residents who are veterans, or serving on active-duty military to reflect on their personal sacrifices as well as others who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service for their country and community; and,
WHEREAS, the Memorial Plaza will provide a beautiful venue for veterans to utilize when planning events in memory of fallen brothers and sisters, such as Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, and other ceremonies, as well as a place of reflection and relaxation for citizens visiting the Edward A.
