Proclamation: Trash Bash Cleanup and Recycling Day

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish has long been recognized for its natural and rural beauty; and,
WHEREAS, Parish Leaders share a strong desire with residents to protect our environment, beginning at home; and,
WHEREAS, litter is increasingly becoming a detriment to the quality of life we enjoy in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, many residents are interested in recycling and want to participate in order to reduce the amount of trash being brought to parish landfills; and,
WHEREAS, we realize the need to come together to beautify our streets and byways in an effort to create our ideal community; and,
WHEREAS, residents and business owners are encouraged to beautify their own properties to make our Parish a more welcoming place.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby declare Saturday, March 14, 2009
TRASH BASH CLEANUP AND RECYCLING DAY
in St. Charles Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the public is invited to help clean up St. Charles Parish beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending with a celebration at the Spillway Boat Launch at 11:30 a.m. Residents may volunteer at www.stcharlesparish-la.gov/trashbash.
