IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, For the last thirty-eight years, Mrs. Mary "Betty" Braun has been an active volunteer in several St. Charles Parish Schools; and,
WHEREAS, Miss Mary has volunteered to be a mentor for the past three years with the HOSTS (Helping One Student To Succeed) Program; and,
WHEREAS, J. B. Martin Middle School is honored to have Miss Mary as a faithful mentor, helper, friend, and inspiration to the students and adults who have been touched by this wonderful person's willingness to go beyond the call of duty; and,
WHEREAS, Miss Mary has become such a positive role model for the students she assists; and,
WHEREAS, Miss Mary is an exceptional person and is truly J. B. Martin's and St. Charles Parish's Angel; and,
WHEREAS, Miss Mary was selected as one of eight finalists for the 2001 Angel Award sponsored by the Louisiana Child Caring Foundation, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, The St. Charles Parish Council and Parish President wish to recognize Miss Mary for her dedication to improving the life of our youth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby convey our deepest gratitude and sincerest appreciation to
MRS. MARY "BETTY" BRAUN
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that she is recognized as an "ANGEL" for helping to make St. Charles Parish truly a place "Where There's More to Life".
