Title
An ordinance of the Parish of St. Charles, State of Louisiana, providing that the Code of Ordinances, Parish of St. Charles, be amended by adding Section 17-10, Fees for the Parks and Recreation Department Summer Camp.
Body
WHEREAS,       the Department of Parks and Recreation has been offering summer camps for St. Charles Parish youth for many years, and;
WHEREAS,       the operating costs of the summer camps continues to exceed the funds generated by those attending them, and;
WHEREAS,       sound fiscal policy requires that the fees charged to participants should offset the expenses occurred in operating the camps, and;
WHEREAS,      said fees are to be revenue neutral, generating funds only for the operation of these camps.    
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.  That the St. Charles Parish Code, Chapter 17, is hereby amended by adding Section 17-10 to read as follows:
 
Sec. 17-10      Summer Camp
The Department does hereby establish the following fee schedule for summer camp participants:
 
      Per Camper, Per Week      Not to Exceed $35.00
 
The Department may allow hardship exemptions upon documented demonstration of financial hardship.  The Department may allow for family discounts and/or other creative means to enhance attendance, but all efforts must be made to maintain the proper balance between income and expenses of the summer camps.
