IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, a former State Representative and Councilman-At-Large, is serving his first term in the Louisiana Senate for District 19; and,
WHEREAS, Senator Chaisson presently serves on the Health and Welfare, and Judiciary C Committees, and as Vice-Chair of the Transportation Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Senator Chaisson also serves as Chair of the Interagency Council on the Prevention of Sex Offenses; and,
WHEREAS, Senator Chaisson is one of the honorees to be recognized by the National Highway Safety Awards; and,
WHEREAS, The Awards were presented by the National Commission Against Drunk Driving at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.; and,
WHEREAS, Senator Chaisson has been rewarded for his efforts in anti-DUI Legislation which includes authorizing police to cite drivers under the influence of alcohol and other drugs and securing the passage of .08 Blood Alcohol Content Legislation; and,
WHEREAS, Senator Chaisson has been presented with the Legislative Leadership Award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
SENATOR JOEL T. CHAISSON, II
