EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. _____________

Title

An Emergency Ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc. for the completion of the Lakewood Drive Subsurface Drainage Improvements.

Body

WHEREAS,      the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 99-10-1 declaring a Public Emergency for the completion of the Lakewood Drive Subsurface Drainage Improvements Project; and,

WHEREAS,      sealed bids were received on October 25, 1999, for completion of this project; and,

WHEREAS,      the Parish Engineers have reviewed the bids and recommended that the contract be awarded to the apparent low bidder, Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc. in the amount of $928,306.00.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.      That the bid of Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc. in the amount of $928,306.00 for the completion of the Lakewood Drive Subsurface Drainage Improvements is hereby accepted.

SECTION II.      That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.

      The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
