ORDINANCE NO.
Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with Alpha Testing and Inspection, Inc., to perform all necessary testing services for the 5th Street Drainage Improvements Project (Parish Project No. P190506).
Body
WHEREAS, on May 17, 2021, the St. Charles Parish Council approved Ordinance No. 21-5-11 approving and authorizing the execution of a contract with Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc., for the Fifth Street Drainage Improvements (Project No. P190506) in the amount of $1,182,515.00; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the 5th Drainage Improvements Project is to increase the storm water drainage capacity by the construction and upsizing of subsurface drainage along 5th Street in Norco; and,
WHEREAS, testing services are required, therefore, Alpha Testing and Inspection, Inc. is requested to perform these services for the above-mentioned project in accordance with all standard testing procedures and methods (ASTM, ACI, etc.); and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish shall authorize and pay for the performance of testing services provided by Alpha Testing And Inspection, Inc. in an estimated "not to exceed" cost of $30,000.00 according to the attached proposal dated June 18, 2021.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Professional Services Agreement between St. Charles Parish and Alpha Testing and Inspection, Inc., for services as required by the Department of Public Works is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
