P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS,      Emerson Louise Dean was born on December 24, 2008, to Britten and Barbara-Louise Dean, of Luling, where she lives with her parents and her brother Britten, Jr.; and,
WHEREAS,      on June 28, 2010, Emerson was involved in a swimming pool accident at her home, leaving her unresponsive; and,
WHEREAS,      she was rushed to St. Charles Parish Hospital where she was revived, and then brought to Children's Hospital of New Orleans to begin her journey to recovery; and,
WHEREAS,      on October 1, 2010, she was well enough to return home from the hospital, and could continue her intensive recovery there; and,
WHEREAS,      Emerson is in need of specialized, age-appropriate occupational and physical therapy provided by the NAPA Center in Los Angeles, California; and,
WHEREAS,      on February 19, 2011, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, at 107 Badalamenti Street, in Luling, the PUSH for Emerson Krewe will host a Jambalaya Lunch at $3.00 per bowl, to raise money for a three-week therapy session; and,
WHEREAS,      these efforts will help Emerson on her continuing road to a successful recovery; and,
WHEREAS,      she will be able to grow into a beautiful young woman who continues to bring joy to everyone she meets; and,
WHEREAS,      the Parish President and the Members of the Parish Council wish to lend their support for this most worthy cause.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, FEBRUARY, 19, 2011, AS
EMERSON LOUISE DEAN DAY
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT THE CITIZENS OF ST. CHARLES PARISH ARE HEREBY URGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FUNDRAISING FESTIVITIES TO SUPPORT THE CARE OF THIS LOCAL TODDLER AND RAISE AWARENESS OF DROWNING PREVENTION.
