Title
A resolution to approve and authorize submission of a prioritized list of projects for the St. Charles Parish Long Term Recovery Program.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish was severely impacted by Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005; and,
WHEREAS, a project list was developed through extensive public hearings conducted throughout St. Charles Parish and though other community input; and,
WHEREAS, based on Louisiana Recovery Authority estimates of housing and infrastructure damage, St. Charles Parish has been allocated $305,968.00 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the Long Term Community Recovery Program; and,
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Recovery Authority is requesting that the St. Charles Parish Council prioritize this list to be submitted for further possible funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby authorize the submission by the St. Charles Parish Government of an application to the Louisiana Recovery Authority for the St. Charles Parish Long Term Recovery Plan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents for the completion of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the St. Charles Parish Council does hereby approve and authorize submission of a prioritized listing of projects to be submitted to the Louisiana Recovery Authority for the St. Charles Parish Long Term Recovery Plan, which prioritized list is attached and made a part of this Resolution.
