A resolution supporting St. James Parish in their efforts to aggressively pursue the locations of Thyssenkrupp AG Steel Mill in St. James Parish.

WHEREAS, St. James Parish is actively engaged in pursuing economic development opportunities to increase the growth of business and industry in their Parish and the River Region; and,
WHEREAS, St. James Parish and the River Region has many assets to attract business and industry particularly the Mississippi River and easy access to the interstate system; and,
WHEREAS, the ThyssenKrupp AG project will benefit not only St. James Parish but the entire River Region, State of Louisiana, and the Gulf Coast; and,
WHEREAS, the ThyssenDrupp AG project will provide employment to the entire River Region, thereby enhancing quality of life and economic development opportunities for all.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby enthusiastically and wholeheartedly support the efforts of St. James Parish Council and Parish President Dale Hymel, Jr., in aggressively pursuing the location of the ThyssenKrupp AG Steel Mill in St. James Parish.
BE IT, FURTHER, RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, State Senator Jody Amedee, State Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, State Representative Robert Faucheux, State Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., State Representative Roy Quezaire, and State Representative Ernest D. Wooton.
