IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Maya Ruffin is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana with her parents Dexter and Shelly Ruffin, and her sisters, Taylor and Layla; and,
WHEREAS, Maya is currently a Sophomore at Destrehan High School and after graduating, would like to attend the University of California, in Los Angeles and major in Psychology; and,
WHEREAS, Maya is a member of the National Beta Club and is a Second Harvest volunteer, and a disaster relief volunteer; and,
WHEREAS, Maya enjoys reading, volunteering, listening to music, learning about beauty and fashion, and interior designing; and,
WHEREAS, on Sunday, August 3, 2014, Maya was crowned the 19th Teen Queen at the 56th Annual St. Charles Parish Festival Pageant held at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Norco; and,
WHEREAS, Maya will represent the parish at several fairs and festivals throughout Louisiana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
