IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      a special thank you goes to Mrs. Cindi van der Sluys Veer, Chairperson of the Norco Public School District 2005 Norco helping Norco Campaign, for her tremendous support and organization of this event; and,
WHEREAS,      Mrs. van der Sluys Veer gave unselfishly of her time to ensure that this project was completed and funds to help the Norco Louisiana Schools were distributed accordingly; and,
WHEREAS,      Mrs. van der Sluys Veer, kept in constant contact with Councilman "Dickie" Duhe updating him of the progress of this event and assured him that the City of Norco, California had opened their arms to help their sister City in Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS,      the City of Norco, and the Norco Public Schools in California raised over $10,600.00 for the schools and students of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, Norco Primary, and Norco Elementary after Hurricane Katrina; and,
WHEREAS,      without the help of Mrs. van der Sluys Veer, this unselfish gift would not have been possible; and,
WHEREAS,      this unselfish act has actually bonded the two locations separated by over 2000 miles and forged a friendship that will last for years to come.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
 
MRS. CINDI VAN DER SLUYS VEER
CITY OF NORCO, CALIFORNIA

"German Coast", a parish of

development, known for its
 hospitality, rural living and sporting
