Title
A resolution to amend the Parish Council Rules by adding Rule 40. Use of Common Sense during Parish Council Meetings or Committee Meetings.
Body
WHEREAS, we are no longer able to use common sense to act accordingly during meetings and must have a council rule guiding everything we do; and,
WHEREAS, there are far too many distractions taking us away from doing the people's business; and,
WHEREAS, residents have lost faith that their Elected Officials will act proper and conduct business in a professional manner during Council Meetings; and,
WHEREAS, we are no longer able to make an individual decision when performing such acts as multi-tasking, addressing bodily functions, or stepping out of the room if deemed necessary.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES TO AMEND THE COUNCIL RULES BY ADDING RULE 40. AS FOLLOWS:
Rule 40.
While official Parish Council Meetings or Committee Meetings are in progress, Councilmembers shall refrain from using any type of technology including laptop computers, automated voting mechanisms, voice amplifiers, and wristwatches, pouring or drinking from a glass of water, using the restroom, sneezing, coughing, stretching, and scratching an itch unless disclosure is first made that any of these acts are being conducted related to the issues presently under consideration or discussion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby amend the Parish Council Rules by adding Rule 40. Use of Common Sense during Parish Council Meetings or Committee Meetings.
