IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Charles Lumar, a resident of Boutte, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish, is a Junior at Hahnville High School; and,
WHEREAS, Charles has been involved in Quiz Bowl, Beta Club, Track, Marching and Concert Band; and,
WHEREAS, Charles participated in the St. Charles Parish Honor Band and District VII Senior High Honor Band; and,
WHEREAS, Charles has been ranked as high as first academically among more than 400 classmates; and,
WHEREAS, Charles has been recognized on the Superintendent's List and with the Union Carbide Academic Excellence Award; and,
WHEREAS, Charles is also a member of Student Council, National Honors Society, Symphonic Band, and Science Olympiad Club; and,
WHEREAS, Charles won first place in "Propeller Propulsion"; second place in "Scrambler" at the Regional Science Olympiad Tournament; second place in civics at the District VII Literary Rally; and,
WHEREAS, Charles placed third in the Martin Luther King "Share the Dream" Essay Contest; and won first place in the Hahnville High Schools Social Studies Fair in History; and,
WHEREAS, Charles was recently named "Student of the Year".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
CHARLES LUMAR
"PARISH OF PLENTY"
created in 1807 from the county of the
"German Coast", a parish of
unprecedented economic and social
development, known for its
hospitality, rural living and sporting
opportunitiesÂ… with the added
distinction of being located
on both sides of the
Mighty Mississippi River.
