IN   RECOGNITION
WHEREAS,      Chief Thomas Barreca, Jr., is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Norco for over 60 years with his wife Denise.  They are the proud parents of one daughter Jaclyn B. Dearie and 2 grandchildren Cooper and Aubrey Dearie; and,
WHEREAS,      Chief Barreca worked for Motiva Enterprises for over 30 years and has devoted 46 years of fire service with the Norco Volunteer Fire Department where he joined in 1968.  He is a second generation firefighter after his father Thomas Barreca, Sr.; and,
WHEREAS,      Chief Barreca's certifications include Hazmat Tech, First Responder, Fire Fighter I and II, Instructor I, and Adjunct Instructor at Louisiana State University and Texas A&M; and,
WHEREAS,      throughout his fire service career, Chief Barreca has served as Board Member, Treasurer and Vice-President with the Board of Directors of the Norco Area Volunteer Fire Department, has served several years as an Officer with the St. Charles Parish Firemen's Association, and was appointed Assistant Chief in the late 1970's until his election as Fire Chief; and,
WHEREAS,      Chief Barreca has retired from the Norco Volunteer Fire Department after devoting 46 years of service to the residents of Norco and St. Charles Parish.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
THOMAS BARRECA, JR.
NORCO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
