An ordinance to amend the M-1, Light Industrial, Zoning District to allow barrooms, night clubs, lounges and dancehalls.
Body
WHEREAS, Barrooms, night clubs, lounges and dancehalls are only allowed in the C-3, Highway Commercial, Zoning District by Special Permit Use; and,
WHEREAS, Principally permitted uses in the C-3 Zoning District are also allowed in the M-1 Zoning District; and,
WHEREAS, Chapter 3, Article I, Section 3-1 of the St Charles Parish Code provides location restrictions for alcoholic beverage business; and,
WHEREAS, The addition of barrooms, night clubs, lounges and dancehalls would not be a use of higher intensity than that which is already permitted in the M-1 Zoning District.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code, Appendix A, Zoning Ordinance of 1981, Section VI(D)(I)(a) is hereby amended to add the following:
M-1 Light manufacturing and industry district:
1. Use Regulations: A building or land may be used for the following purposes if in accordance with the special provisions outlined below.
(31) Barrooms, night clubs, lounges and dancehalls.
