Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with Gootee Construction Inc. of Metairie, LA, for the St. Charles Parish Courthouse Chiller Replacement Project #GB-07-1-17, with Base Bid and Alternate 1 in the amount of $1,036,900.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on May 1, 2018, for the St. Charles Parish Courthouse Chiller Replacement Project # GB-07-1-17 at 15012 River Road in Hahnville; and,
WHEREAS, Huseman & Associates, the Engineer for the project, has reviewed the bids and recommended that the Base Bid and Alternate No. 1, of the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Gootee Construction Inc. of Metairie, LA, in the amount of $1,036,900.00; and,
WHEREAS, the existing chillers which are over 21 years old (well beyond their life expectancy), are to be replaced. This system serves as an essential component providing necessary climate control for the courthouse building.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Gootee Construction Inc. of Metairie, LA, for the St. Charles Parish Courthouse Chiller Replacement Project # GB-07-1-17, is hereby approved and accepted in the amount of $1,036,900.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2018, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
