Proclamation: "Lions Month" and "Boutte River Region Lions Club Car Show"

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, through services, Lions Clubs have impacted the lives of millions of people; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions engage our youth - by helping to organize and participate in service projects which may include school or community facility cleanups or a visit to a home for senior citizens or a children's hospital; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions share the vision - by planning vision health projects in working with the visually impaired, by organizing vision screenings, volunteering at nearby Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers, and by organizing an eyeglass collection; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions relieve the hunger - by organizing food drives and projects to feed the hungry, to help alleviate hunger by planning events to collect and distribute food; and,
WHEREAS, the Lions protects our environment - by implementing projects that improve and protect the environment which may include organizing a highway cleanup, planting trees, or planning a community "Earth Day" event; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council and the Parish President to bring this most worthy organization to the attention of the Citizens of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, Boutte River Region Lions Club is holding their 1st Car Show on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Jerusalem Shrine Temple, 1940 Ormond Boulevard, Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS, Boutte River Region Lions Club invites everyone to come and enjoy a day of delicious food and entertainment and the opportunity to view a wide variety of vehicles and crafts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM MARCH 2014 AS
"LIONS MONTH"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT, SATURDAY, MARCH 22, 2014, IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AS
"BOUTTE RIVER REGION LIONS CLUB CAR SHOW"
