Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the St. Charles Parish Library Board of Control to enter into a Contract for Architectural Services with Chenevert Architects LLC for the design of a Public Library in Paradis.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Library Board has been working to provide a Public Library to serve the communities of Paradis, Bayou Gauche, and Des Allemands; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best course of action to provide a Library to these communities is through the construction of a new facility in Paradis; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council and the Library Board to proceed with the design and construction of the facility in an expedited fashion; and,
WHEREAS, Chenevert Architects LLC is knowledgeable and experienced in the field of library design having done prior work for the St. Charles Parish Library System in St. Rose and Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve and authorize the St. Charles Parish Library Board to proceed with this project.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Library Board of Control is hereby authorized to enter into a Contract for Architectural Services with Chenevert Architects LLC for the design of a Public Library in Paradis.
SECTION II. That the Library Board is hereby requested to expedite the design and construction of said Public Library.

The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2009, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
